I received an advance copy to give my honest review of this book. This book a part of the Ocean Mist series and the whole series is so powerful and moving! This book is first to be written in the POV of Tiffany. She is one tough cookie that doesn't want to depend on anyone and can't let down her guard with anyone. Her mother has just died and now her dad, whom has been mostly absent in their life, is coming to take care of them. She doesn't trust her dad and doesn't want to need him to help out. She wants to take care of her little brother Denny and the house herself. While she is at school she is trying to figure out the new kid, Jason aka Fresh Meat. She doesn't want to like him, but feels drawn to him. I really enjoyed getting into her head with this book. In the first two books she seems like a "brat", but you begin to understand her a little more in this book. There are quite a few stories with this story as a whole and I enjoyed the detail that Brenda Maxfield puts into each character. I'll be patiently waiting for another. tap. tap. tap. ;)
I received an advance copy of The Return in order to provide a review. This was my first opportunity to read one of Brenda Maxwell's books and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very easy read and is part of a series . I was so swept up into the story of Tiffany and her family that I plan to read the remaining books as well. This would be a good choice for teens as well as adults.
It's an interesting book about a young girl who lost her mother. She is rebelious toward her father who had to take over his children after a long break after divorce.
The book is well written and enjoyable to read. I wish the story would continue.

I look forward to every new book Brenda Maxfield writes. I have particularly enjoyed The Return from the Ocean Mist series.
This particular book focuses on Tiffany as she copes with loss and past terror in her life. She becomes interested in a male teen but cannot decide whether to let him in to her world. Is it safe? Will he hurt her? Tiffany's life has not been an easy road and she has built many walls of emotional safety. What will she decide? Is the relationship worth tearing the walls down? Only reading the book will let you know and I assure you, it is worth the read.
I have been fortunate to recieve a copy of the book to review before it was published. I really enjoy Brenda Maxfield's books. This one is part of the Ocean Mist collection. I found the characters very interesting and the relationship between Tiffany and "fresh meat" gave you a better understanding of the fears and struggles that Tiffany is going through. She has been dusappointed by her father in the past and doesn't trust him or want to need him. In her attempt to escape, she learns more about herself and her feelings about her fanily and "fresh meat".
